The Aqua Vase, oil on canvas
“Grand is the seen, the light to me—”
I am a professional printmaker, illustrator and portrait painter. I am also a teaching artist with a Masters in Art Education with an Emphasis on Special Populations from Moore College of Art and Design.
I received my BFA in painting from Syracuse University’s College of Visual and Performing Arts in 2002, while minoring in English.
My work consists of both figurative etchings, portraits and still lives. My etchings employ silhouettes to create idyllic or symbolic images of landscapes or people. I often work in series of progressive monoprints augmenting them with watercolor or pastel. In my work, I express a desire to preserve the beautiful for coming generations with the hope of ensuring a more peaceful future society. I am often inspired by poems on this theme and will reference these poems in my work.
